42lbs in 40 days!

Recommended Posts

Unbelievable to be down more than a pound a day since my sleeve.

A little tiny part of me is wondering if it's going too fast, but the other part of me knows that there will be stalls and plateaus in the future so I should make hay while the sun shines.

Has anyone lost 100 pounds in less than 120 days? That seems like too much to hope for, but that's the track I'm on now.

I think that my biggest downfalls with weight have been drive-through (quite frequently twice a day, along with regular meals) and drinking (a six-pack of beer, a bottle and a half of wine, or a few scotches every night), and without those, the weight is dropping faster than most seem to report.

Please wish me continued good luck!

Bobby

Enjoy the honeymoon stage.....but as you have already stated.....prepare yourself for the stalls. I lost the majority of my weight in the first 6 months....easily and fast......then the rest was a real effort and very very slow. Plus, the hunger desires start to return. Congrats so far....hang tough and stay the course. ;)

I've lost 75 pounds in three months, however I doubt that I'll get to 100 by the end of month four. It would be nice, but I'm just not counting on it. Like the previous response mentioned, its getting harder as time goes by. I've stuck quite rigidly to the rules and haven't had any sugar or fattening junk food since my pre-op diet. It works better for me this way because it has eliminated the cravings or even wanting those kinds of food.

I do want to lose the weight as quickly as possible and perhaps get to goal within the first 6 months post op. My physician and other post op patients have warned me how much harder it is to lose after the first six months, so I'm going to try my very best to be successful in the early stages. My loose skin is not as bad as I had anticipated. I think the weight loss has slowed down a little to give my skin time to adjust.

Bob. I am having my sleeve done on Monday and I have enjoyed reading your posts. 42 pounds in 40 days is awesome. Could you please give me your starting weight and height. How much of the 42 lbs were lost during liquid diet? Thanks

@@Duxx1 Starting weight and height are right under my name above!

About 20lbs during liquid diet and 22 (now actually 24) since.

Wishing you all the luck I've had so far and more!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
