wow I'm just starting out seeing that you've been able to keep the majority of your weight off gives me hope. I wish I had some advice for you, the only thing I can think of is look at your calories or bump up your exercise, but you might have done that already.

I'm with amponder I'm here to follow this conversation because it inspired me that you have done so well nad have kept your weight off too. I have a questions for you @@christina how tight do you keep your band? do you know what size it is and how much fill you have? As soon as I lose 40lbs more I want to keep it where I won't be so miserable but where I won't gain the weight right back either. I was miserable for 8 months and that's when I lost most of my weight but now my band is not as tight and I am trying to lose the rest by eating healthier and exercising. I don't always want to depend on my band to lose. But I do need it to keep me from going back to my old habits.

I have 52 pounds left to lose to get to my goal. Congratulations on your long term success! Since I'm new and no expert I'll just say what I've heard before. Get back to basics and start like you were fresh out of surgery. liquids first few days, then introduce solids and Protein Protein protein. Many people say when they do the liquid thing it resets their band restriction. Eating protein and really staying off carbs means longer satiety, at least for me. When I eat carbs they don't hold me and I can eat so much more of them. Luckily I like meat.

Also, log your food. You'd be surprised what you're really eating once you keep track. I use MyFitnessPal and even if I have a godawful food day, I truthfully track everything I eat and drink. It's a wakeup call.

And don't drink your calories. And don't drink with meals.

I wish you the best. You're an inspiration to me!

hi everyone -- remember i said i was a newbie to the site! well i lost the site i could not remember where it was or the name because it was through Facebook i found it. Well thank goodness the posted up and article that interested me when i clicked on the link it was like i was back home again.

One thing that helped me was constand walking and zumba -- i am not crazy about exercise i tend to be lazy but my passion is music so i alway made a different music line up every month so it doesnt get boring. i hope this helps some.

i am still struggling i go for another adjust ment on the 26th. i have to pay out of pocket now which annoys me - my new insurance SUCKS!!! lol seriously it does.

I am going to find out the size of my band i know there have been some newer models out since my surgery. but i also know at the time of my surgery i did get one of the new models.

i always get an adjustment when i lost about 15bs or more because you can feel the band loosen (my opinion) how do i know that. the amount of food i can eat -- i did go back to using a timer when i eat and i put in a liquid shake to sub a meal. but i still like eating at least 4 - 5 mini meals a day even tho are considered Snacks.

one thing that really helped me!!! was an app i downloaed -- "my fitness pal" i use it to log my fitness and food -- it is really great...... now that i saved this in my favorites mabye now i can make some friends share some stories and eating patterns or food advice....

everyone be well -- be safe -- stay blesed

christina

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
