Hi everyone! I was sleeeved on the 24th. My recovery is slow going but I'm hanging in there. I have a sudden adversion to Protein Shakes but I'm hoping it passes soon. I've been drinking Isopure as much as possible But I'm not getting in the amount of Protein by far. I'll do the best I can and go from there. Has anyone had problems with bm afterwards???

I'm a little late in the postings and new to this site...

I'm scheduled for 3-31-15 @ 9:30.

I'm excited. Only thing I'm nervous about it that they are going to say my liver was in the way and they A) had to open me up -or- B) cancelled the whole thing.

My surgeon said that is very rare, but they do use a retractor to move the liver out of the way anyways. Good luck & it's normal to be nervous! You are almost there!

There are a lot of things that can cause problems with BM after surgery. The pain meds, contrast for leak test, you could be lactose intolerant now, not enough fluids and so on. I was sleeved on the 19th and I have experienced both extremes at this point. Unjury makes s chicken Soup Protein Powder that you mix with Water. It's very good & no dairy issues. My doctors office said I could take different things to help. It just depends on what the problem is. Feel better!

Deb I didn't have a chance to wear my own Pjs because they don't unhook everything until I was ready to go home, but I used my robe a lot! A pillow for the ride home. Loose clothes for the ride home. Gas x didn't help me at all because the gas isn't in your stomach, it is from them pumping you with air so they can move everything. They said it goes into your empty cavities like chest, and shoulders. Some people swear it helps, but it didn't help me. In fact it just made me vomit. I hope you have the best experience possible!

I'm kinda freaking out a little. I've spent 9 months reading, interviewing, going to groups, researching, knowing it's time for this change and now I'm sorta choking a little. Total jitters.

You are almost there! I know how you feel! I had 8 months and the two days before my surgery I was a mess lol! But the day of surgery I was calm & ready to get it over with! You have done all you can do at that point and you just have to trust yourself, and put your faith in the process!

Deep breath. Time to pack. Don't have to be there till 10am and don't expect to sleep much. Our lives are so centered around food - family, social, comfort, TV. Time to change that. Planted three rose bushes and an azalea bush today. Here's hoping we all thrive and grow together as symbols of my new life.

Well tomorrow is my day. I'm scared as hell but excited at the same time. My friend had her exactly 3months before me n she has done amazing. So she is my motivation that I too will do amazing. Keeping positive. I haven't told a lot of people just immediate framily (friends who are my family) and I have gotten a lot of positive reinforcement. Thank god. My son is the only one who thinks I'm taking the easy way out. But I think it actually harder then trying to lose the traditional way. So its not easy at all.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
