How many carbs are a good number to go by? I'm 3 and a half months post op, doing great and down 65 lbs but I feel like I may be eating too many carbs. I usually eat between 30-50 but feel like that may be too high?

I think that's pretty normal. I get around that too and am just over 3 months out. The only carbs I get are from Protein Shakes or veggies.

I'm six months out and was told at least 80 and no more than 120-140. I try to stay around 100.

I was trying to ride between 30 and 50 grams, but my primary told me to eat some crabs for crying out loud because I was passing out. Whatever. So, I am probably riding between 50-75 now, but not every day.

I am very sensitive to carbs. I am six months out and if I want to lose weight each week I have to keep my carbs below15- 20 gm/day. I think that is on the low end. However,If I eat more than that I don't lose anything that week. I track everything on my fitness pal so I am able to see how my carbs/calories/protein intake affects my weight loss. I suggest tracking everything to determine what works best for you. Some people do better with low cal, some better with low carb.

I don't know if this helps or not, but my NUT has this plan for us: half your plate is Protein, half carbs. Focus on the protein, but try to eat it all. Make sure it is all nutrient dense. I hope it helps!

It depends on my day and the type of carbs. I try for complex carbs that come from my bean, dairy, veg & fruit. I limit or avoid white, simple carbs. I vary anywhere from 30 - 70. If I am excising 5 days a week and eating carbs I lose. If I workout less than 3 days a week without reducing carbs I don't lose.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
