Help... At the edge of giving up

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, quick update... Day 4 of renewed journey and I'm starting soft foods... Down 8 lbs, I know most is Water weight but downward movement on the scale is good enough for me, even if it's Water weight!

Hope all is well for you and have a great weekend! oh and ... #GOHAWKS (Seattle Seahawks, that is!)

@@gavin My experience with sugar addiction is that I have to stay away from it entirely. I am not one who can moderate it, at least not today, while still losing. One bite of it is never enough, and more bites of it is never enough either. It's very very hard and sad to stop it cold turkey, but it is what is best for me.

Sugar is like eating one chip... Can it really be done while losing... Not in my world. I cut all sugar and won't even consider the "diet" candies. It's just asking for me to blow it again. It's like that with sweet, salty & crunchy things... The deadly three for me... Cold turkey is how I had to go too. It's hard but your worth it, we are worth it!

I totally understand. I haven't posted any year. I was so excited for this been to help but I cannot find that sweet spot of restriction. Either I'm vomiting up everything because everything gets stuck except liquids, or else I'm able to eat, small bites and well chewed, but still I never feel that phone is that I thought was supposed to happen to help me stop. If I was a person who is good at stopping eating after a cup, I would not have needed the band. I was really excited to be able to eat small portions and feel satisfied but that never happened. And I'm still the same exact way to year and a half later.

I find that high Fiber items like veggies , Beans and oats play a huge roll in my menu. I don't think I'm at my "sweet spot" yet either and so I make sure I take 20 min to eat and no empty calories!

Nikkipk72:

I know exactly how you feel. I was banded in 2007 and did awesome with my band. I lost 80 pounds. I got pregnant in 2009, lost my band during the pregnancy, then had to wait another year to get re-banded. Well, the second time around hasn't been as successful. I'm disappointed with myself because I KNOW for a fact that I can do this. I just don't understand why I'm not.

I have an appointment later this month to get a fill. I really want to buckle down and get this train moving! Your post is encouraging and I certainly wish you the best in your journey.

You can do this and so can I! :o)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
