10 Weeks out and no problems?

Recommended Posts

Other than being a slow loser, I average 2 # a week. I seem to have no issues eating anything. Now I don't eat too much

but at Christmas I ate fudge once a day for 3 days. No problem. Yesterday I ate two Cookies & milk. No dumping but I did feel uncomforbably full. Don't plan on keeping this up. The fudge was in my house of 7 days before I ever even ate one

piece. So evidently for now, I don't dump on sweet things. I also stop at a reasonable serving but feel like I could eat like a normal person. I've ate turkey chili, beef chili, ham, bacon, pork roast. Only thing I haven't tried (which I love

is steak). I can drink like a normal person, I don't have to sip.

I'm just curious if anyone else is like me? I realize just because I can eat it does not mean I should eat it. I will

also admit for the first 3 weeks after surgery I had buyers remorse. I just feel like I'm in the minority. I don't know

if it's a blessing or a curse! I had started exercisig but slacked off over the holidays, I plan to get back on track as

of today.

I'm only 16 days out, but am a slow loser, too. I lost 10 pounds by the time I came home from the hospital, but only 4 pounds total since. I think it's from lack of fiber...I don't got the the bathroom like I used to. I can't eat or drink all I want, but I do still crave foods...not sweets like I used to, but I think about breads and eating foods with texture. I would kill for a sandwich! I drink at least 60 oz of Water a day, but am still wanting to eat about 800 calories. It's depressing. I know that 800 calories isn't a whole lot, but when I read about people only taking in 300-600 cal a day and being stuffed, it makes me feel like something is wrong with me. I'm going to start walking tomorrow as much as I can.

Hi! I'm 3 months post op, and can eat anything too. However, I wasn't losing, and was doing a lot of grazing. Since I'm back on track? Down 57 pounds, three dress sizes and there is no stopping me! I had to really become accountable to me. I have a good tracker, focus on my Protein, and occasional carbs. It's working.

I just saw my doctor for my 6 week check up . One of my questions was about this very thing. Cause I have eaten a chocolate kiss (yes, it was only one lol) I stopped my self cause I'm scared to get the foamies or dump... My doctor did say that in the first few months a lot of patients aren't having food problems that we (the patients) were expecting. This is due to advances in the surgery & the medications that they are placing patients on after to protect the stomach during this time of healing. However he did warn me that once I'm off my stomach medication I'm subject not to tolerate sweets (with natural sugars) of any kind at all. Not sure if this is the case with anyone else but thought that I'd share what I've been told.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
