Three weeks out, almost four. I know I am not ready but I want to be! Haha I have been craving a salad since before the surgery. Just trying to decide when I can try it in the future

I am six weeks out and I still haven't tried salad. Hard enough to eat three or four bites of meat? ??? but I'm not complaining.

I didn't eat a salad until about 7 months out and it was a few bites with lite dressing

I craved salad too, who would of thought?? I asked my doctor at my 6 week appt and they told me I could try it but take it slow. I've been eating salad a few times a week ever since with no issues. It's my go to meal if I have to go to a restaurant where there are no good options (Italian, pizza, etc). Sometimes my husband will just give me his dinner salad and I don't even have to order one.

I'm 4 1/2 months out and my dr. and nutritionist still haven't cleared me for salad. Said it's too hard to digest. I miss it--who would have thought that? Not me! :)

At 6 weeks I was cleared to eat as tolerated. I don't make those giant sales I used to but I can do anyway from a half to a whole cup of romaine or baby greens with either an egg or mock chicken. I don't used salad dressings, I just splash a bit of lemon juice and olive oil on it.. So have tolerated it well. I have a salad a few times a week.

I am two months out and eat salad a lot. I do best with it if it is chopped very fine. I usually get a Subway chopped salad and can eat it for three servings. I have also bought chopped mixes at the store and do well with those.

I was craving salads during post op. When I was finally cleared for salads I ate them all the time (small portions of course), and come to find out that my body has now created an intolerance to lettuce. My body can't break it down very well, and in turn I am susceptible to developing kidney stones. So I had to back off salads (1 or 2 a week). Still love my salads regardless.

In addition to that I developed a nut allergy after the surgery. Certain nuts (which I need to go take labs to find out), break my skin OUT (hives & itching). Never had these issues before the surgery, but I definitely don't regret the surgery one bit. Now I just have to be a little more careful with what I eat....even more so.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
