Day 2 Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

Hi, my name is Michelle and I'm on Day 2 of my Pre-Op diet. My requirements are two-three Protein Shakes a day and a healthy meal no more than 450 calories. I was able to consure 100 ounces of fluids to stay hydrated and did well for the most part. I had a terrible headache yesterday and felt very sluggish. Any suggestions on curbing the headaches and sluggishness? I started my walking/stair climbing program today. I have a desk job and set a timer on my phone to walk/climb stairs every 30 minutes. My surgery is scheduled for December 29th. My husband had his gastric sleeve surgery December 2013 and is down 125 pounds. I'm so looking foward to feeling better. Thanks for reading.

Hi,

Unfortunately, I"m sorry, but this is typical. Your body has possibly lost a lot of items in the diet that is causing the problem. :(

I had the same symptoms until about day four of the liquid diet, then those symptoms subsided and they have yet to return! I believe for me it was from "withdrawal" off of all forms of caffeine and sugar. I used to be a two to three cup a day coffee drinker and I had weaned myself down to only one a day during my six months of nutrition training. It does get easier and you will feel betters in a few days. You may have some hunger pangs right up until surgery, but relish them because you're going to feel very full for a long time now!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
