Where are your incisions?

Recommended Posts

I never thought much about my incision placement until I saw pictures of other peoples scars on another thread. I had one tiny incision right at my bra line, bottom of my sternum. (Which I can't even see with a magnifying glass at this point). The other 4 are all in at the bottom of my abdomen about 2-3 inches below my belly button. They are very faded, but even when they were more visible they're totally covered by my pants. They would probably be exposed if I wore a low cut bikini, but due to saggy butt and thigh skin that's not happening anytime soon ????. My scars are almost in the same exact spot as my partner's hysterectomy scars.

On the other thread Most everyone had holes in totally different places and I was just curious....

You healed well Kindle. I would love to have a tummy like that when I reach my goal weight, not happening lol. I did have one incision above my navel area. The biggest one is on my right side and the other 3 are on the left. One is under my bra lin and I had to keep that covered because of the bra.

You are so fortunate they are below the navel and have faded so nicely. Mine are above the navel and all visible above my pants.

I have one below my right breast, one below my left breast, one a little lower below my left breast, then a fourth one to the left of that one (which has lovely marks from band aids around it, looks like a flower. LOL I never have had an issue with band aids or anything irritating my skin, but this time the band aids left marks on me that are still there. Oh and one inside my belly button. This one took forever to heal but I had had previous surgery that cut thru my belly button so I think that is why, plus that is where my stomach came out.

My scars (minus the flower petals from band aids) are very light and tiny!!!

@Kindle Before I clicked on your picture I thought the arrows were your scars, then when I clicked on it and it got bigger I could see they were arrows. LOL

I'm hoping mine fade like that since they are pretty light now and I am only 7 1/2 weeks post op!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
