Hubby said surgery took about 45 minutes. I was in recover for an hour and a half. He had a nice, long wait. I don't remember a thing!

My surgery was 1-1/2 hours, due to band embedding into stomach tissue and gall bladder removal. Pretty fast, I thought!!

My sleeve was about a hour and a half, my dr said he had to separate some muscles in my esophagus so it wouldn't be to narrow

Operating time for me was about 45 minutes. I was stable under anesthesia, have had no prior abdominal surgeries so no scar tissue to maneuver through, and carry most of my weight in my butt, hips and thighs--so of my 245 lbs starting, my abdomen was not the fattiest part of me. That said, they didn't come to get my husband for about three hours or so.

Mine took a little longer than he anticipated because I had a ton of scar tissue from my band that was being removed. I think 2 hours total. I was so excited and relieved when I woke up enough to discover that my doctor HAD been able to do the conversation even with so much scar tissue. As a result, however I have a VERY small pouch. I'm not going to complain though, this is what I have been dreaming about! Anyone else sleeved in Jacksonville Florida this April?

Surgery for me was about an hour and a half. My surgeon had me on a pre op diet primarily to shrink my liver to make the surgery easier. I did well enough with that and my liver shrank so much he was able to do the surgery without needing to move it. So that was one less incision.

I ended up being in observation for about six hours because they didn't have my room ready in recovery. I didn't end up getting out of bed to take my first walk on day one until about midnight, and had to get up again at around 4 am for vitals and to walk again.

Mine was a little over an hour. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired which I understand is pretty common.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
