Yo Carol,

You aren't comparing yourself to other people are you? Chances are they have a bigger BMI...

Really, C~

The further you get away from your surgery date the more you'll realize you can't compare yourself to other people...

Think about exercise not so much as something you have to do to lose weight but as something that you want to do to be healthier and feel good. That might be a stretch, I realize, but try to shift your focus, you know. And really you can not CAN NOT do this with out exercise if you really want to transform your body.

Hugs, etc.

I am happy. I am going to try and sell my bike....maybe be able to get the other faster?? If not, then that is ok too.

I would keep it if it does not sell, wont matter, but it is too big for my younger daughter to ride....she is only 5'1 so she needs a small frame size and this is a medium.

Oh well.

WHich trek do you and your husband have? I love riding, it is better than going to a pet store....and they use to not be able to pry me out of there, now it is bike stores...LOL

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
