Im so torn on what to do.

I think NSVs are meant to be "non-scale victories."

:)

BTW, gallbladder surgery has more surgical mortalities than WLS. You can google that.

And at your age / weight / general health, you're probably not bringing any complication vulnerabilities to the surgery theater. What if you weighed 400 pounds, had heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes? THEN you'd have to worry more about complications from surgery.

Lighten up. We all survived. You probably will, too. ;)

I have a three year old. My logic with the surgery is this, is the risk of dying from surgery greater than the risk of dying from something I could have prevented? And is it worth the rush of surgery to make quality if life better for both of us? I want him to know that j tried and not that I just let myself die behind something I could have prevented.

My sleeve surgery is in January. My 6 year old son heard me and my husband talking about my surgery and he started crying uncontrollably.

Begging me not to have surgery not to go to the hospital.

Im so guilt ridden, my main concern is my children if any problems should happen while having surgery or after.

I constant thoughts are should I put myself and my kids through this and risk a serious complication?

Or,

Should I go ahead with it? Should I try another attempt at dieting? Im so over loaded that Im depressing myself, and on the verge of having a crying fit when ever my son asks about it.

So torn, what to do.

I used to work as a Child Life Specialist. It was my job to make the hospital experience easier for children and families. Your little one has overheard some scary adult conversation. This is a teaching moment.

Explain to your child that yes you are having surgery because you need help being healthier. The doctor will be doing a small operation on your tummy. You will not feel anything because the doctor will give you special medicine that puts you to sleep while he works. When he is done he will wake you up. You will be sore for a little while, but then you will feel better and be better able to play with them. You may need to repeat this conversation several times. Lastly children pick up cues from their parents. If you are weepy and nervous acting around him, he will pick up on those non verbal cues.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
