I'm struggling with how I feel like I should be eating vs what I'm able to eat and what I read on here from some people.

As a lifelong dieter, I'm accustomed to the idea of smallish Protein servings along with heaps of veggies to fill up on. I recognized early on in the consultation process that this is not how I would be eating once banded. Instead, it would be small protein (properly cooked to be soft), eaten first, then a small serving of veggies and starch to round out my plate.

Well, I have yet to eat any real portion of veggies. I find almost all of them difficult to eat unless they are boiled to death.

Are you eating veggies? How? Which ones?

I miss my big salads and mounds of roasted vegetables!

I drink my greens, greens+. I do have a salad, usually when we are in an Italian restaurant and Pasta is the main fare. I will get a salad with a Tomato slice, shredded motzarella. If there are other things on the menu, I will add if they meet my needs. Then, I spend a lot of time cutting everything up into small bites, being very mindful of slow eating and checking in with myself. I take a Vitamin every day and drink the greens.it seems to work for me, but I totally get missing the slightly undercooked veggies.

Everyone is different, so you will have to go with what your system can handle. I drink V8Fusions for my daily serving of fruits and vegetables, I also eat canned spinach, and green Beans. Anyother type of Beans, corn etc (starchy veggies) are very difficult to eat. I cannot eat iceburg lettuce but I can eat romaine. It will be trial and error for you. Experiment in small doses and see what works and you will have to adjust.

@@send2steph if you are able to eat these items without having a band issue, then you should continue to enjoy them. Make sure to get your Protein levels in first and then go ahead and enjoy the vegies.

I had half of a ml taken out of my band today. I'm currently eating veggie/turkey Soup for dinner with no pain. Very happy girl!

Isn't it crazy how such a small amount can make a huge difference? I'm so glad for you! When I had a similar situation, I think I panicked because I didn't feel tight enough. I talked myself through that, and found within two weeks, my sweet green spot???? loving it!

I have eaten a small salad. Chewed it well…no issues. I've also had cooked green Beans that were pretty easy to eat too.

Got banded October 17,2014 and had my first fill 2 days ago. So far I have not found anything that gives me problems with eating

Pat, same with me, one month banded and my first fill, but nothing has given me issues. I almost wish I did, to have that feeling that my band is "working". Dues that even make sense?? But I struggle getting veggies in. Doing V8 or something is not a bad idea. Huh..

Nothing has given me trouble either. I'm scheduled for another fill on Monday. I think this could be my last one because I was in the yellow zone last time. I'm thinking another half CC will really help me get satisfied with less for longer. When I had my first fill I had a strong sense of satiety for about 3 days. Now I'm back to feeling hungry every 3.5 hours after eating about 4oz Protein.< /p>

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
