5th fill and little to no restriction

Recommended Posts

I got my 5th fill recently, bringing me up to 8.5 cc's in a 10 cc band. I am getting worried, because I feel hardly restriction.

I do chew very well, but I've never felt stuck at all, and have never had any sliming or anything like that. I am also not the best at eating slowly, but still no stuck feeling.

I do feel full sooner than I used to, but I can still eat more than I should.

Ugh. I'm stressing.

Definitely ask your surgeon. That seems like a lot of ccs to be feeling no restriction at all.

Well, we talk about it at every appointment; he asks me if I'm feeling restriction and if anything has gotten stuck and I always tell him no. He never seems to concerned about it, which seems weird.

I am feeling the same way. I have an appointment next week. I was told I can still go up a bit more as long as my UGI looks fine and having no problems, which I am not. I just don't feel I have enough restriction.

Am feeling so frustrated. It's been over two months since i had the lapband and only have lost ten pounds. I have five fills and still feel no restrictions. My friends who had their surgery a month after me have lost 35 pounds. I walk 3 miles everyday. Just feeling frustrated not sure what am doing wrong

@@Browneyesin tx - That sounds perfect. I can't imagine why you're not losing more. Maybe get a visit with the nutritionist??

Well, in the eleven days since writing this post, I've lost two pounds, and I got stuck for the first time! It wasn't fun, and it's not a good thing, but it was actually kind of reassuring to know that there is some restriction. I think that I just don't realize how much less I am eating, and since I do chew very well, I haven't gotten stuck before. So I've lost about 40 pounds since I started my pre-op diet in July. That's not too bad.

OMG I've had my band for 3 months and am only down 10 pounds. I have tried different foods. Am still walking everyday. It's that i see my friend and she has lost all this weight and she's not even working out. Just wondering if i made the right decision. I already had 6 fills. Just don't know what to do

For me, this is how it works. I eat Protein first, then veggies, then carbs. 3:2:1 proportions. I take smaller bites and chew thoroughly. I slow down my eating a lot. I pay attention to the soft stop signals. A burp, a hiccup, a sigh, or feeling like I've had almost enough. Then I stop. When i do this I stay satisfied for 4 to 5 hours until my next meal.

The band isn't supposed to stop me from eating too much. It's supposed to help me feel satisfied sooner. Not full. Full means I ate too much or too fast, and ignored my soft stop signal. Stuck means I didn't chew enough or eat slowly enough. The band keeping hunger away for 4 or 5 hours after a Protein meal is the biggest benefit.

I've lost over a hundred pounds and have had five fills. The last two fills were tiny.

This is my experience and so far I feel successful. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
