Heading back to ER again, prayers please

Been so sick 3 weeks post op. Can't get fluids down. Woken up vomiting bile, brown mucus and blood thus morning. Vomited yesterday too but not blood. I just want them to find out what's wrong with me. Was sleeved nov 6th. Was doing OK a week or 2 out and started getting sick 6 days ago. Went to ER this past Monday. But they have me some fluids and a cat scan and blood work and didn't find anything except some esophageal swelling. They should have done an EGD. Going to an different ER. Been on straight gatorade for 4 days and getting worse. I should have went in yesterday but didn't want to ruin thanksgiving. Appreciate the prayers. I just want to get well.

I think through all my research may finally have a hit. I think I have gastroparesis. Says you can pass the liquid barium gastric emptying test which I do and they think stomach works fine also EGD is not effective. They need to do radiological test where they give you a small meal and watch how fast it empties the stomach. I think I have delayed gastric emptying

Good luck.

There's no cure but sometimes can be managed by meds. U am trying reglan which I had which can help. I'll see how today goes appt tomorrow with surgeon. Also can be caused by stomach surgery which I had. Makes sense. As I started having all my issues when I started to eat after surgery

@@nprcowboy - So how is that treated or managed? Space meals further out? I sincerely hope you are onto something. Perhaps then the doctors cna figure out how to manage this.

I take reglan not because my stomach empties slow but because of reflux. Try that and then demand your surgeon do the test!

Have they agreed to do the radiological tests?

I have my appt today may direct admit me as I'm getting sick fast. Only 10oz of fluids and 100 calories of food yesterday. Past 5 days total of 60oz fluids. Down 70 lbs today but it a healthy way. I will demand the proper testing to be done when I go to appt today. I tried reglan past couple days and not much improvement. Only cure I can find is to convert me to a bypass :(

Not in healthy way I meant

Good luck with Dr appointment. I sure hope, they find a cure for this and get you in the right direction. How is your wife doing?

She's doing great she's down 66 lbs and has had no issues outside of that cancer scare

I'm not a doctor by any means.. But that sounds EXACTLY a like what I had Gerd.

Nprcowboy, I just found this thread and am rooting so strongly for you to beat these issues. Great to hear the cancer was just a scare and your wife is going well. I wish I could do something to help, but for now just know there is one more person cheering you on and wishing only the best. Stay strong and rest on your loving wife's shoulders.

Good luck!

@@nprcowboy - I hope they resolve things for you soon. At this point, a bypass might be better than these back and froth trips to the ER. Glad to hear your wife is doing well.
