Abnormal Chest X Ray

Recommended Posts

So little Miss Scardy Cat just got a call from the Nurse saying my chest X-Ray came back abnormal. Has this ever happed to anyone before??

The nurse was not sure if they were going to cancel my surgery or not. She just said if I don't hear from her it is still a go on Monday.

NOT feeling very happy right now. Any input would help :)

Hi, I had a chest xray come back abnormal and was then sent for an echo. My echo showed something wrong with the main valve, and so a day before scheduled surgery I had to go in for a ct. My ct showed everything was normal. My dr said that a breast shadow or anything could have shown abnormal on the chest xray. Keep positive and do the additional tests, just to ensure that all is safe. Good luck!

My chest xray showed spots, sent for CT.....nodules that have not grown and are stable. My surgery was not cancelled because of it.

Well, I called the Dr. this morning. I have been thinking about it all night long! They said they think it is either a fat tumor, or scar's from phenomena or a collapsed lung.

I then said "well, I am glad to hear that! Is my surgery still set for Monday because if not I am having a huge sandwich! She and I laughed and she said NOPE you are having surgery Monday morning!

Thank you all for your support! I really love how everyone tries to help each other!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
