Bills, Bills, Bills...come every month like clockwork....wonder if we can tell them.."look, I just had surgery...and my doctor won't let me back to work yet...so your just gonna have to give me freebies this month" :P

Like THAT will ever happen...and if you do take off...bills get behind..and ya NEVER get caught up..I hate that feeling.

So, only recourse is...I will go back after 9 days and when asked to do something....learn the word "I'm super busy, can you ask someone else.....wait...no one smart enough in my office to handle it....geeesh!! Losing battle here!!

I had my surgery on 10/27. I took off five weeks. I only work part time. I probably could have gone back at three weeks but doc wrote me out for five so I am taking the five weeks. It has been nice to get used to all the new things in my life.

I had my surgery on 10/27. I took off five weeks. I only work part time. I probably could have gone back at three weeks but doc wrote me out for five so I am taking the five weeks. It has been nice to get used to all the new things in my life.

I had my surgery the same day CheleLynn45. There is much to get accustomed to isn't there? I went to Thanksgiving at some long time family friends that I haven't seen since the summer. When I walked into the kitchen, the husband remarked Whoa...where's the other half of you?! It was nice to have my body changes acknowledged...but the interesting part is not everyone says anything....and I like it!

I have noticed now that people want to be closer and engage with me more. It's not like I was a pariah but the interesting thing I've noticed in people's behavior is if they think you're more successful at whatever in life they decided is important...they want to engage with you and are more endearing...like yesterday, I went to see my NUT and she was smiling the whole time, telling me how great I looked, made a compliment that I was smart, fun and cool. Then before I left she was hugging me. We always had good productive visits before but her happiness at my progress made her feel so much closer to me to express it. It was a nice surprise, but a surprise nonetheless.

I worked 11-3 then had surgery 11-4 stayed out the rest of the week then back to work 11-10. No issues other than being tired at night. All is going well even though i seem to be dealing with nausea. I simply used PTO.

I went back to work 10 days after surgery and was fine. I have a desk job, but am up and down a lot. I didn't have any trouble, but I did go to bed early each night.

A little more than five weeks off. I work in a prison, so I was in no hurry to return.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
