Hey guys I was wondering how much food can you guys eat after being a year or more after surgery :) like for example would it be the size of one slice of pizza in comparison more or less ? Thank you :)

I haven't tried to eat pizza! Still in weight loss mode so pizza is not on plan. I can't say I have always stuck to my plan, but pizza has never been a huge temptation for me so I haven't bothered.

My typical lunch or supper is 2-3 ounces Protein plus a couple ounces of veggies, and at that point I absolutely do not want to eat any more and am pretty sure I would be in pain if I did. I try really hard to stop before I get to that point of pain, and have gotten pretty good at reading the signals my sleeve sends me. If the thought of eating or preparing more food seems irksome or unpleasant, I stop, even if I had planned to eat more at that meal.

For example, the other night my dinner was 2.5 ounces of sardines baked with an egg on top. I had planned to eat some veggies after that, but after my protein I just couldn't eat any more. The thought was kind of nauseating and I felt physically full already. So I would say my restriction remains strong, especially if I stick to what I am supposed to eat - dense protein and green veggies.

Yep. I agree with everything Bufflehead said. If I stick to "the plan", being Protein first, then maybe some veggies, I am always full and can eat probably 3-4 oz of lean Protein and just a little veggies. However, with that being said, it becomes much easier to eat slider foods and not feel full at all, so you have to be really careful to be mindful in your food choices. Could I physically eat just about anything? Absolutely! Will I maintain my 140 pounds lost if I do? Absolutely not! The sleeve is a great "tool" as I'm sure you've heard a million times. But you have to work with it for it to work for you the way it is meant to.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
