The World According To Eggface

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever tried the recipies on the Eggface blog? (I think the web address is http://www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com ).

They all look pretty good in the pictures, but do they taste good? Her idea for using a Bento Box for lunches is really good; I'm on the lookout for one locally. I'm jumping ahead a little bit (I'm getting sleeved this Friday, so it'll be a while before I can experiment with recipies) but I'm just curious.

Does anyone have any other good resources for post-WLS meals?

Thanks! :D

You can find a lot on Pinterest. Just search for bariatric recipes. I tweak them a bit, but you get a lot of really good ideas.

Best of luck!

She is very good.

Btw, FB does have a few good groups. May be we should start one here?

I love her site and recipes! You have to remember that she is a bypass patient, so sometimes you may need to adjust (carbs wise) for the sleeve. I had ricotta pancakes last night...love them!

Thanks, everyone! Once I'm cleared for food, I'll try her recipies. (Had my surgery last Friday, still on Stage 1). The ricotta/pepperoni cups look soooooo good! I've also been finding some good things on Pinterest, too. I'm going to start collecting recipies and create a binder/cookbook for myself. It's weird; you would think at this stage that I wouldn't want to look at food and recipies in case I become tempted, but I'm really not! It's almost like my stomach and my head are finally in sync. At any rate, blogs like Eggface have made me kind of care more about my food, and actually want to take the time to make thngs instead of the old habits of reaching for whatever. And it shows that you can eat real food after surgery. So many people think you can't eat "normally" after WLS, and it's just not true. Makes me almost want to start blogging again myself lol! :P

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
