Am I just broken?

Sleeved on 11/3. I lost 20 pounds last week - weighed the night before surgery, and then again on Saturday night after the surgery.

So far, so good, right? I mean I'm aware of the dreaded3-week stall, but I'm a week and a half out, so I'm not there yet. Right?

BUT - insert whine here - I've GAINED 4 pounds since Saturday night.

WHAT THE EVER-LOVING WHAT???

You're weighing yourself too much. You were just sleeved like 5 minutes ago. Your body is still adjusting. I would focus on eating right, drinking Water and leave the scale alone. Seriously don't even look at it until you go back to the doctors. You're only going to make yourself crazy.

I'm exactly 2 wks out 24lbs down and haven't lost another lb. of course I'm on food now and I think that has something to do with it bc on full liquids the weight was falling off me. Today first day back to work only lasted 4 hours started having stomach pains. Don't worry before we know it we'll be looking healthy and feeling great. I've already noticed an increase in my energy!

I was sleeved eight weeks ago and have only lost 15 pounds in eight weeks. Sometimes it's really slow. Try weighing yourself only once a week, less depressing!

Recovery is hard enough without this unnecessary stress you are putting on yourself. Drink your Water, get in all your Protein, take your Vitamins and STAY OFF THE SCALE! And @@Cody's mom , you are in good company. I had lost 17 pounds at 7 weeks and I was at the same 17 pounds at 10 weeks. I was happy for the slow loss because it's healthier and in no way affected reaching my goal (and even losing an extra 12 pounds!)

@@Kindle It is frustrating loosing so little and not seeing the scale move week after week (I have one that has a decimal point so I know that it doesn't move at all), but am also hoping that because of the slow weightloss, I'll have less sagging skin, but that might not be the case either. I spoke with my sleeve buddy and she hasn't lost anything in five weeks, so at least I know I'm not alone. That being said, neither one of us have gained weight in the last month, nothing lost, nothing gained! I lost 10 pounds in my two week pre-op, then only 15 pounds in these last eight weeks, I'm exactly eight weeks tomorrow since surgery.

But you got this.... Just stick with the program, and it will work. I lost 22 pounds on my 2 week preop and then took another 3 months to lose 30. What worked for me was upping my Water and calories. Broke a month long stall doing that. And I've had other stalls along the way, but I just kept eating healthy, getting all my Protein, water and Vitamins and the eventually would lose a little more. Have faith and enjoy your NSV's.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
