First fill today *nervous*

Recommended Posts

@@Jkim728 your gonna do great! Good luck, and just remember to follow the Dr's instructions on what to do after the fill. It can take about 2 weeks for the fill to fully settle into the band...so don't stress out if you don't "feel" it right away, it will also depend on the amount of fill the Dr. puts in :)

Thank you for the info. Didn't know it took a while to actually feel the restriction. My doc said he didn't fill my band but turns out he had put 3cc in there, not sure why he didn't want to tell me. As for the fill, they gave me a numbing shot (didn't feel it) and then gave me another cc, so now I have 4cc in my 10cc band. I'm on liquids for one day and soft foods for the next day. All in all it was no biggie and I couldn't be happier.

I got my first fill today and surprisingly no pain. He put in 5 cc instead of his normal of 4 because I have been so hungry. I did not know it took time for the fill to settle and that is a relief because I feel no restriction and still feel hungry after eating dinner. I cannot wait to get to the green zone and getting this hunger under control.

I had restriction the first week but now I feel like I lost some of it, like I can still eat and not be full. I'm sticking to healthy choices but hungry every 3 or so hours. I go back 12/09 for a second fill so will keep you updated.

Getting my 2nd fill on the 10th and hoping for some restriction. I can pretty much eat what I want and am still hungry most of the time. Trying to make good choices but the weight loss has stalled,

I got my first fill, finally. 4 months of trying to get a fill date. I am a very nervous person, big chicken in fact. The nurse was fantastic with me, no pain and very quick. I have read this forum for 4 months and had a very good understanding of all the info she wanted to ensure I had. 40 lbs down in 4 months on my 'adventure'. Enjoy the journey!

I got my second fill on 12/09 and I'm still feeling the restriction thank goodness. I'm down 7 more lbs since the 9th so I'm pretty happy. I have my 3rd fill in mid January but if I'm still feeling restriction then I'm going to hold off. Good luck in your journey.

Had my first fill about 2 weeks ago. I'm down 4lbs from then but looking forward to my next one on 1/5/15. Trying to go slow so I don't get tight and frustrated.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
