Post op difficulty 1 year later

Recommended Posts

I am 1 year post op. My first issue was that i could not eat or drink anything for weeks. My dr kept telling me it takes time. I know my body... Something was wrong. Turned out he did an egd and my sleeve was only 5mm instead of the 18-20mm it should be. So it took 5 weeks of dilation to open it. Nightmare. Then everything i ate or drank made me sick. Turned out after losing 50 lbs in 2 months becuz i couldn't eat... Caused my gall bladder to shut down. Another surgery. Now i have kidney stones. I still cant eat or drink much of anything without nausea. food has become my enemy. I regularly feel nauseas and foggy and dizzy.

I passed out at work in Thursday and ended up in the ER and they had to give me 3 bags of fluids. I have not been back to my dr as i feel they have failed me. I have lost over 120 lbs but i feel like im dying. Need some advice on how to get in the proper nutrients in. Juicing recipes? Protein recipes? Altho many of the Protein drinks make me sick. But i need some help...

Any ideas.

Desperate!!

Im so sorry that this has happened to you, maybe you can get a second opinion from another dr to help you. I am 4 weeks out and still prefer liquid as eating is just not comfortable. Take Care

@@klmc10 That sounds awful! So sorry you have to go through all that. I hope you found a different Dr to take care of you. That one sounds horrible! I don't have any good advice If everything makes you so sick. I'm surprised you haven't been given a feeding tube to let your tummy rest after all that trauma. Have you tried any of the clear Protein Drinks like Isopure ready made drinks?

I actually just bought some. Im drinking one now. :). Im having a hard time finding a new doc. The place that did my surg is one of the only in the area and most all the area docs are related to the group. I wasn't polite when I left last time. Im sure im banned... Lol

@@klmc10 I can't say I would be to polite either. Are you doing ok with the Isopure? I don't care for the taste of them but they serve the purpose.

Isopure has excellent nutrients and electrolites in it. I blend mine with sugar free lemonade or sugar free cran-grape to help get it down.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
