Has any one tried putting Protein Powder in a green smoothie post op as part of the liquid phase?

this is the only doctor that I found that actually recommends it:

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Great question.

I tried but I can't do Protein powder... The GENEPRO doesn't add anything and I don't feel like a real green smoothie is sweet enough on its own.

I've watched the video that you posted a few months before surgery. He is not an advocate of "protein first" 6 months post op. As a vegetarian, I found this philosophy and his research to back the idea, quite interesting. I am doing further research into the notion of eating vegetables first before doing it myself.

Let me know what you discover. I've been doing a green smoothie the last couple of days and have had no issues. I just make sure that it is very thin.

I'm also a vegetarian. I've always made my own smoothies. I miss my veggies, I've been adding spinach into my purees since I hit the soft foods stage and I will occasionally add a bit of spinach to my smoothies if I'm using the powder and making my own from scratch. Since many green leafy veg also have Protein, I don't have an issue with it.

I'm still losing so I don't see anything wrong with it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
