Initial weightloss

Ok, so I am 11 days post op. Surgery was 10/23. I have only lost 14 lbs since I began my 3 day preop liquid diet. Only lost 8 lbs since surgery date. Why is my initial weightloss so low. I'm hardly eating food at all. Its been full liquids. I have noticed that my sleeve holds more than 4 Oz easily. Especially if I go slow. I usually get at least 60g of protein, but have a hard time getting all my water in. I have only been slightly active. Went on a few walks and did some yard work raking leaves. When will I see a significant weightloss. Something to motivate me more.

I'm not complaining! I'm definitely losing more inches than pounds. I'm down 2 sizes. Hang in there. They pump you with a lot of fluids and your body is adjusting to major surgery and changes.

I've lost 9 lbs in 5 days since surgery and I lost 13 on the 2 week pre-op diet for 22 lbs total. I am pretty pleased with that!!! ANY weight lost is a POSITIVE not a NEGATIVE!!!!! just remember.....you didnt gain all this weight overnight and you are not going to lose it overnight........the WLS is just a tool to help you lose it. Honestly, I would rather lose it losely because losing it slowing, you can prevent alot of the sagging skin issue. CHIN UP AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Great job! How are you feeling?

I'd say you're losing it pretty steadily. Be happy, girl!!

@AlanaRN....I feel really good!! No real issues since surgery. I was very nauseous( from the anestesia) for about the first 36 hours and threw up several times. im walking 3-5000 steps every day, not trying to overdo it and trying to get my liquids down.

Glad to hear! I was very nauseous for the first 3 days as well. Haven't had a problem since. Good luck!

Don't worry, you will absolutely feel the restriction when you start actual food. You'll never really feel that full feeling while on liquids only.
