Hows the libido?

Recommended Posts

Did anyone experience a dip in desire post op? I'm about 11 weeks post op, everything works, the sleeve and um.......everything else. Before surgery lets just say I was "up" first thing in the morning most of the time, but lately I'm just not feeling it. When we're in the occasional mood, not a problem, but now when the weeknd comes the first thing I think of in the morning is, another hour of sleep. Does the libido bounce back?

Vince,

I think it totally depends on the individual. I had my surgery on July 31st and everything is back to normal. Not much change in my libido but my ego is sky high. I'm now down 85 lbs since my high weight of 311 and sometimes I catch myself looking in the mirror saying "Damn I look good".

I'm sure things will return to normal for you to. Best of luck to you.

I'd give it some time but if things don't get better you might want to talk to someone. I think these issues are fairly common after a major surgery. Just give it some time.

I have never had any problem since my teens.... no drop ever. always ready to go. 37-week pregnant wife is not amused right now.

I read somewhere that testosterone is stored in your fat cells so as you lose weight you may see a drop in libido but things should level out. You may want to have a quick chat with your doc, there are plenty of men with low testosterone which can easily be rectified.

Take care!

I think mine is starting to increase a little as the weight is starting to come off. But it didn't drop off after surgery, it was kind of non-existent beforehand.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
