I Need to find a Dr.

Recommended Posts

:help: Hello,

I'm new to this site. I need to find a Dr. that's affordable. I was going to go to Mexico & have it done, but I've been reading some bad things about geting banded in Mex. Does anyone know of any affordable good Doctors in California.

Have you checked out the doctor listing on obesityhelp.com? That might be a good starting point for your search.

Thanks for the infor. I'm going to look at site right now. Are you glad you had it done? This might be a dumb question do you miss food? How do you feel?

I am very glad I had it done. Even if I don't lose another pound at this point (unlikely), it's been enough to make me feel like a normal person again. I feel great! There's a few things that I can't eat anymore that I really thought I would miss (like rice and potatoes), but I don't find I miss them at all. There are fleeting moments when I think, "gee, some rice would really go great with this," but I usually find I'm not hungry enough for it anyway. It's a totally different ballgame when you are satisfied on less. Hope that helps!

If you do go to mexico you should check out Dr Oritz. I have talked to alot of people and it sounds like he is the best down there. Best of luck to you.

I'm still trying to get approved through insurance, but my self pay back up plan is to look more into Dr Tersigni in Coose Bay, Oregon Bay Bariatrics - Steve Tersigni, MD - Coos Bay, Oregon

Denise had this to say about him: "I was banded by Dr. Tersigni on the coast and he charges 10,000.00 It didn't seem worth it to me to go to Mexico when Dr. Tersigini is 5 min from my house. He's really great. I know a lot of people come from Portland

to go to him. The lady that was banded the same day as me by him,

lives in Portland."

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
