Waiting is the hardest part!

Recommended Posts

I have 2 wks until my first seminar for WLS @ Madigan AFB. it's so hard waiting because I just want to get going with all the steps I have to go through. And, I had to wait an extra month because the first seminar I was scheduled for in Oct. was cancelled. I'm hoping to have surgery in Jan or Feb. I'm ready for my new life!!!

@@amiclvrt welcome and congratulations on your decision for wls! I am in the beginning phases as well...and waiting is the hardest lol. I think I super obsessed about 2 wks before my seminar and died down a tad about 2 wks after....I had my seminar the 1st of October and had my first supervised diet appt yesterday I have six months of that and an additional 2 months for some specific stuff until I can submit to insurance so congrats on maybe January or February surgery lol!! If you need a journey buddy I'm in the beginning stages with ya so feel free to holler at me! I am scooping up all newbies like me for support haha

Thanks!! Let's be friends for sure. Thankfully I only have about 2 months of stuff after the first seminar and I am already approved by insurance. I'm so ready to get started. I have made a lot of the changes they want this past year and I feel like I am totally ready to embrace this new life.

@@Ethomas15, @amiclvrt....I was the same way. After I had my first Oct. 9 surgeon appt., I breathed, ate, slept and dreamed about my next appt. which starts the official process. I know ai called that office about 5 times with questions and they were always polite and helpful. I am sooooo excited now. I stay on this site to get as much info, ideas and suggestions as I can. I hope to have my surgery in Feb. 2015 as well. Good luck to you both!

@@Ladiec2 I think it's just human nature to be obsessive about this kind of stuff but I think it puts a whole new element when you take people who have dealt with something like weight for so long and imagining a whole new life! Its crazy!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
