I had 63 pairs of shoes!! most all of them are too big now :-( I am so sad, and broke so I keep trying to wear them, and yes I have about killed myself a few times.

Oh my goodness!! What size do you wear? I could buy some from you, LOL!!

9-8.5

I gave many of them away, but I can look and see what is left.

I'm more like a 9.5-10. Darn!

I was an 11. I'll have to get measured for sure when I go to buy a new pair.

Thank you! I was 248 (October 7) the morning of surgery and I was 181 this morning. My weight loss is crawling now but I'm happy with where I am now. I'm 5'2 but really large framed. At my smallest I was still 150 so that's my goal. After three kids and being a size 20 - my 12s are glorious!

I was at work today and (I work with all guys in a warehouse environment) I've gotten a few "what are you doing? My wife is trying to lose weight" comments, but today our guy that doesn't speak much English from Ecuador came in my office to thank me for watching his kids at work for an hour when his girlfriend dropped them off. After much hand gesturing, he did the international sign for a curvy woman and smiled real big and said "Β‘Eres hermosa!" which someone told me is 'you're beautiful!' NSV! It was funny bc he's really shy.

We are almost identical! LOL! I was 249 the morning of surgery and I'm 282 but I'm about a size 14. I was a size 20 when I started too. :-)

I shared this on another forum as well and thought you all might want to see it. I've been pretty silently following you all and you all have been a major inspiration to me.

ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery) posted a really nicely done video that I believe provides some awareness to the use of bariatric surgery. I am a Registered Nurse who, in late October had Lap RNY done.

Best thing I could have done for myself. Six weeks after my surgery, I became a Bariatric Program Coordinator to help others on their journey and to quite honestly live and work this journey myself. I've also become a health coach for the same reason.

This video is one of the better ones that I've seen. Please share it:

Thank you for sharing the link, I loved it. I feel exactly the same way "BEST THING I DID IN MY LIFE" too. For the first time in forever, I too, feel like I am winning.

I am so happy for you. Helping others going through WLS, what a meaningful way to give back. Way to go girl.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed. Β I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.Β  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.Β  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
