@ amylynns, sorry you are having troubles. Are you eating things that can irritate? Red sauce, Tomato based or heavily seasoned? Other then that, I would be calling dr.

@@amylynns Just wondering what is your portion size? Are you making sure it is less then 1/2 cup. It may be better to do 4 meals a day that are smaller. I do 4 because our family dinner is at 8:00 PM and my Nut thinks I should have a snack. My plan is yogurt mid afternoon for life! At this point (Begining of week 3) I am only allowed 1/4 cup of food and that's to kind of form my new pouch and I'm sure keep my staples in place. I do notice I wake up every morning with a bad taste in my mouth and I make sure I drink at least 8oz of fluids before going to bed. I know there is no dinner left in my pouch by the time I go to sleep. The other thing I was thinking of is maybe taking the acid later in the day. You may have to talk about this with your doctor. I do't think you should have reflux with RNY

I don't think I'm eating stuff that would irritate it.

Breakfast has been either scrambled eggs or smoothie.

lunch has been either tuna, pureed chicken, or veggie Soup and then I have a pureed veggie along with it.

dinner is....pretty much the same, LOL. But I did have fish the other night Yums.

And again, a veggie along with it. (green Beans, carrots and cauliflower are what I've had so far) If I have some potatoes cooked up, I usually have about 2TBS of potato.

Then I usually have 1 or 2 "snacks" during the day/evening. And that's been yogurt or cottage cheese.

I would say I measure it in a measuring cup about 90% of the time. But honestly, it's rare that I've even been able to finish a meal. I always eat my Protein first, then veggie and then potato.

I wondered if I'm eating too late into the evening, but I started getting that "acidy" feeling yesterday afternoon even.

@amylynns. I think it's time to call your Doc & Nut to discuss your symptoms.

Call your Provider. By the way are you walking regularly? How much liquids daily? Did you every try the Prune juice? I take 1 oz once a week & 2 days or less I'm good and it helps me stay regular.

How are you@@kimodell69

I'm doing ok. I get the rest of the staples out tomorrow. I can't wait! They are itching and pinching today. I counted, and they took out about 30 out last week and I have 14 left. I knew I had a lot, but yikes!

Still having the burning and ripping pain, but it isn't as bad today. I went for a walk outside yesterday for the first time! With help from my husband. We didn't walk far...just down the street a bit and back. But it was nice to get out. My husband was joking saying its time to take me for a walk. Like I need a leash or something! LOL!

I start my puréed diet tomorrow. I am soooo excited! I have 2 cookbooks that I have been going through looking for puréed ideas. Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook For Dummies and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery. There are some yummy recipes in there, but I am really looking forward to having a scrambled egg for breakfast tomorrow! :)

Oooh I never though to add cream cheese to the chicken salad! That sounds yummy. I just came across a blog with some yummy looking recipes on it, called bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com ...I can't wait to try some of it! I'm really in the mood for some kind of good Soup today, it's freezing here in NY, and supposed to snow tonight :-/ I was thinking of having my mom make some of her awesome beef stew for me, except I wouldn't eat the beef of course.

Question for everyone....have any of you been noticing dry mouth?? My mouth is so dry, all day...I sip Water all day, but it's still so dry and makes me sooo thirsty. My eyes feel dry today too.

@@Beni - I had a problem on Monday, it had been 3 days and I got this wicked cramp in my belly that wouldn't go away. I had taken my Colace, I tried Milk of magnesia....called the nurse line and she told me to try an enema or suppository (I know, no fun)...so I did an enema, I went a little bit...took a nap and I felt better...The next morning I went and I've been good since. Maybe that is all you need? I would try it, and if it doesn't work definitely call the doctor, there could be a blockage or something

I just called. I always call my favorite nurse in the office, then she'll call me back after she talks to the Dr. (probably in the morning)

I asked her about that one big incision too. I can see there's like 2 tiny little holes, and I can see the internal stich in there. She said that's pretty normal, sometimes they make their way to the surface. But I should wash it at least twice a day with antibacterial soap to prevent any infection getting in there.

Oh my gosh--I am so exhausted today. If I close my eyes just for a second sitting here at my desk I know I'd fall asleep! I'll be going to bed early tonight for sure!

Yay! keep doing those little 5-10 minute walks! I'm up to about 45 mins now. But I started the same way. My 8yr old would "walk" me to the end of the block and back. :-)

You're going to LOVE that scrambled egg!! That's what I had too--but be aware, you may only get a few bites in and you'll be full. :-)

I hate that it has taken me 2 weeks to get that first outside walk in. This recovery is so slow. I weighed myself this morning and I have only lost 12 pounds. Everyone else is losing so much more. It frustrates me. I am hoping once I am able to walk more, the weight will start to come off faster. I just need to be able to walk by myself without needing to hold on to somebody. :( I can never do anything easy!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
