so i had a bad day yesterday, I am on a liquid diet leading up to surgery this coming monday... the day before, all I could THiNK about was my favorite pizza, since that's my favorite food, but I made it through that one, and THAT was a tough one...I was at my last series of appointments, had my 4 month old daughter who was fussy, and had not had any liquids for a few hours, had a SPLITTING HEADACHE and was RAVENOUSLY hungry... It was my first day of the fast... i felt delirious, SERIOUSLY... and had 4 beef Jerky sticks... WAH WAH... i don't think this will affect me, as I am ok now... and I am pretty confident my liver will still shrink prior to surgery as it should... I really think it was an isolated incident, plus I haven't had a binge episode in about 2 months... but I was weak... any advice moving forward, other than don't eat anything other than what's approved for the liquid diet which is basically liquid and Jello? ?

At least you did choose beef Jerky, which is a pretty healthy option! The liquid diet can be hard, so I have heard, I can not even imagine having to do that before surgery! Keep your head up, don't get down on yourself and get back on track!

Do a Taylor Swift and shake it off. Don't mess around with your pre op protocol but don't dwell on it or get stuck in self blame. You're compliant right now and you've got this! So. Plan ahead. Have Protein ready the next time you are in that state. Some protein liquid shake or something that you are allowed. I was on Clear Liquids for the five days before my surgery but your protocol could be different. Even clear liquids can be found with protein like Isopure. If you need something reach for that. Then allow it to register hat you've had something. Protein holds you longer than Soup or Popsicles.

Pre op is very very hard but it's doable. Different discipline will be needed post op. We can handle these stages. We're not perfect but we worked way too hard to get surgical approval to lose it over food.

Good luck and stay connected here and you got this!!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
