I start my journey next Tuesday, October 14th. I'm lucky enough to be having it done at the mayo Hospital in Jacksonville, FL where I live and my insurance pays for it :) . After my coordinator meeting to go over all the paperwork, I will meet with the nutristionist for an hour then the therapist for an hour. The following Tuesday, I meet with the surgeon. I'm really excited and ready to get this ball a rollin'!

Hi beachgal2935! Wow, sounds similar to the way I'm getting started, lol! My first meeting is on Nov.19th and I meet with 4 different people...don't know anything about anything right now, so I'm waiting with bated breath to get started. Good luck to you. Please keep us informed.

Welcome, I'm a newbie as well. I had the seminar and have my 1st appt. with the surgeon and the insurance coordinator tomorrow. I also have an appointment in a couple of weeks with another surgeon (totally different office) and from their I'll decide who I'm going with. I want to have the sleeve too, but I'll wait to hear what they have to say. My insurance requires a 6 month and a 3 month program. I want to try to make it happen in 3 months. Good luck!

I have 12 more days to go until the end of my six months of supervised diet. All of my tests are out of the way and we can submit for approval after my next visit. I am just at 40 BMI and, other than arthritis, have no co morbidities so it might be challenging to get approval. I am so worried as my out of pocket this year was 8500.00. I can not afford to do this again next year. My surgeon is on notice that time is a big issue for me since we change plans 12/1/14. Have you told any of your friends or family yet? I am telling very few people and so far the two I was most worried about have been fantastic.

My name is Tawana, 32yrs young living in Sanferndo Vally,CA 25-30 mins outside of Los Angeles! and I'm currently going through the stages needed to become Sleeved and I'm needing some support and some encouragement going through this hole thing! I have done a year research on the gastric sleeve and know that this is the right healthy thing for me to do, I guess it just would feel better to be around others that have gone through or in the beginning stages like I am! I'm a mom of 3, and I've been over weight my hole adult life! So I'm truly ready for this life style change and my new journey to onederland!!!! Hope to hear from someone soon.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
