12 DAYS POST OP NEED HELP

Recommended Posts

would love to get a sample...having trouble finding their website. usually google works but having trouble on this one...thanks in advance

Just a heads up - if anyone is interested in the GENEPRO, if you contact them on their website they'll mail you a sample for free. Just like carol, I didn't believe it was going to actually be flavorless, so I didn't want to drop the $$$ on a test. Luckily the sample came and amazed me.

I mix it with cold Water and use some Water enhancers to make it whatever flavor I want to.

I am almost 6 mints postop and totally know what your going through. For the first 2 months I couldn't tolerate anything it seemed like. And tried sooo many different shakes I felt like a GNC store. They all smelled like baby formula and made me gag.. Still do. I still can't get in all the Protein or Water I am supposed to. I do try my best to eat protein first but know that bite or two of starch takes up some of the space more protein could have filled! I have averaged 10lbs a month and am quite happy with that. Just know the way you feel is something a lot of us go through and it will get easier every day.

You will not get hungry for a long time. You have to make yourself eat at specified times. If you don't want to be sick, you will start taking your Vitamins and drinking your Water. This is not an easy fix. It takes a lot of hard work! Most doctors make you drink 64 ozs. Of water so doing 32 should be a breeze. Try using a straw. That worked well for me. I liked lean body Protein. The ready made kind. It is lactose free. banana flavored was my favorite.

I had the exact same problem! Still having problems 22 months in. Just know, even though it is very hard right now. In the end it WILL be worth it. Even though I am still having problems, I would do it again.

Kimerick2008@gmail.com if you want a surgery buddy. I would LOVE the support! I still really need it. I found this website a week ago. So happy I did.

Just wish I found it sooner.

Good luck and I hope I hear from you.

Kim

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
