I think I broke my scale...

Recommended Posts

I think I broke my scale because it hasn't moved in 5 days.

I know it is a stall and I know my body is working itself out. It is just frustrating. I had hoped to be 8 pounds lighter today and I am not. Praying I can get through this stall and my body will keep up the hard work of losing weight.

Had my VSG on Aug 26 and so far, by my calculations, have lost almost 24 pounds.

Thanks for letting me vent.

24lbs is an awesome loss!!! You should be very proud...it all happens in time just keep following your plan. I was sleeved 7/17 and I'm down 56lbs, I can tell you the lbs come off when they are good and ready too! Best of luck and stay positive.

(Funny joke.)

You're doing great.

Our bodies do their own thing.

And we have to do OUR own thing.

Eventually, we both get to the same place. :)

@@TwoGoldens give it time. you are what? 4 weeks post surgery? a stall at this time is normal. your body is adapting to its new lifestyle. stick to your plan and you will see that broken scale fix itself soon.

I have been stalled forever!! Got where I hate the scale! Received a letter from my cardiologist yesterday with my blood work....not enough Vitamins, thyroid is too low, ....etc. in other words I need a lot of adjustment. Maybe when all of this is straighten out I will start losing again and become friends with my scale again!

I Lol'd when I read your title because I thought yes indeed I have broken a set of scales or two in my time too (after all we are in the 200 pound + to lose section).

But it appears you did not mean that you literally broke them under your weight.

In addition to the scales that met their demise when I stood on them I have been given and then killed 3 mini stepper machines. I had to stop using my treadmill because once I exceeded 300 pounds because it started to rock from side to side !

PS My Dr's scale weighs me 4kg heavier without fail but he swears blind they are correct. Don't let me get started on the scales at the gym ...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
