I'm going to TJ Mexico alone and wanted to know what do I do with my luggage and stuff while in surgery? Is it safe to leave it in the hospital room? Is there a place to lock it up? What have others done when they go alone?

Edit: I didn't state that very well, I'm thinking of things I have to take like passport and I will need to have some money/credit card I can't go penniless in case of emergency. I will need to take my cpap and clothes. I know not to take valuables I don't have to have. I hope I explained better this time. thanks

I would take no more than you need, I would leave valuables at home. Hopefully the hospital will have somewhere to store your things. Request more information from the hospital so you know what to expect. Your surgical practice should be able to provide you with this information or should be able to let you know who to contact at hospital. Wishing you the best!

I had my surgery in a clinic and patients rooms were behind a door that required a keycode to enter and there were security cameras throughout, so I felt perfect safe leaving my things in my room while in surgery. If you are concerned, you should call your patient coordinator.

I'm scheduled for surgery in Tijuana and I'm also going alone. Oct 2! I asked about my computer and stuff and was told my patient coordinator could put it in a safe but they had not had any problems. I would ask your contact.

I also went to TJ alone. I was the first surgery of the day and my belongings were locked in the hospital coordinators office during surgery and then brought to my room post op. There was a safe in my room at Mi Doctor Hospital to lock things up after surgery. I didn't have any problems, but don't bring any valuables you don't need.

I went alone as well and my things were in my room during surgery and recovery. The doors are locked.

My hospital room had a safe. I also agree. Just take as little as possible. I only needed two sets of clothes (besides what I had flown in on my flight ti Tijuana and took four sets of under wear for the entire week. That was on little carry on.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
