NEED A BUDDY/MENTOR

Recommended Posts

I am going on October 7, 2014 to have my lapband revised, cause I have developed a hernia that has slipped my band. I was originally 292 lbs but lost 137 lbs and then got sick with brain cancer and lost about 40 more lbs so I was at 115 lbs. But had looked very sickly, I have since put back on almost 70 lbs. So when I have this revision done I am going to need some help. I am looking to lose maybe 20 to 30 lbs after this revision.

I am a 38 yr old female who is married with a wonderful husband and two beautiful children. I am a stay at home mother, and I live in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Thank you

April

Hi April. I had a similar situation with my band back in April and had it revised. I am 38 as well...not married but live with my BF and his 2 kids and my son. I was originally banded in May 2007 and since being revised things have been different. I am having a really gard time loosing the weight i have put on over the last 2years. I am trying to exercise everyday but somedays is harder then others. But with that if you need to talk or want the support from someone with a similiar situation im here for you.

Good Luck

Danielle

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
