African American vsgers!

  • Popular Post

Hey guys I saw a thread from 2011 that I wanted to continue. I love all of my vsgers but as we know african american women tend to carry weight differently. I would love to follow you ladies on your journey and for us all to support each other.

I was sleeved on September 5th so I'm a week out. I'm doing good so far and feeling better everyday. I stayed at the hospital 3 days mostly because they discovered my allergy to morphine while I was on the pump with a fever and my entire body on fire. But I'm home now and much better. I was just moved to the full liquids stage so I'm pretty happy considering that the liquids stage made me nauseous. I've lost 24 lbs since my surgery so any pain I have is over shadowed by my joy.

Looking forward to hearing from you ladies and seeing some progress pics!

I started my Pre-op liquid diet on Tuesday Sept 23rd and I'm already down 5lbs. It's scary how fast the weight is coming off. My favorite pair of jeans are starting to be a bit loose fitting.

Diva

What does your pre op diet consist of how many meals a day and how many protein drinks .When is your actual surgery date and if you don't mind me asking what is your goal weight or your beginning weight if you care to tell. Thank you.

@@Peekboo

My Pre-op daily diet consist of:

2 to 3 Protein drinks

1 oz of solid protien (fish, chicken, tuna, etc...)

A half of cup of vegatable (non starch - i.e. no corn, potatoe, etc...)

112 Fluid oz of Water (approx. 7 bottles) per day

My actual surgery date is Monday, October 6th. My highest weight recorded was 307, my weight on the first day of my pre-op liquid diet (9/23/14) was 282.0lb, and my weight today (9/26/14 - 3days later) is 277.2lb which equals almost a 5lb weight loss.

I'm 5'7 1/2 and my Goal weight is 170lbs.

Diva

that diet doesn't sound too bad at all . My surgeon doesn't require a two week diet just requires two days of clear liquids . My date as of today was changed to the seventh because of a conflict on the eighth so now I will be 7 October so I will be one day after you . W e will keep each other on track!

Had surgery Mon Oct 6th. I'm finally home. They discharged me last night. It's been rough guys. Y'all pray for me. P.S. Any suggestions for gas pains...??? I'm suffering terribly over here. Thanks!

The best thing to do for gas pains is walking. My doctor told me that Gas-X wouldn't help because it's a different type of gas.

Diva..my surgery was on the first and I'm just experiencing the gas pain...they say walk walk walk but how can you if you don't have much energy to anything so I'm just taking my gas x and sip on my water I'm too afraid to sip on a protein shake in fear it will get worse! I'm praying for you and me and whoever is having a hard time right now...In the name of Jesus Amen!

Thanks me too!! Now the fun begins :)

I will be sleeved on October 14th. I am excited. I am now on my three day clear liquid diet.

I was sleeved on August 11, 2014. I'm two months post-op and down 46lbs.

@@m4nurse 6 lbs lost on pre-op, and 40 down since day of surgery. That's 46 lbs total.

Hello my fellow AA Sleevers... I am just about done with everything that I need to do prior to submitting for insurance approval. I have 3 more physician diet visits left, and I am praying for a January surgery date. I pray for ultimate success for everyone, and I look forward to seeing many, many more positive posts.

Best of luck and God Bless You All.... Michelle
