August post op sleevers: Check in

Greetings Everyone, It's been a while since I've checked in. I had my sleeve surgery on 8/11/2014. As of 01/04/2016, I am down 120 lbs. It's been tough. I've been been at my current weight for a few months. The scale is not moving. I guess it's a bonus that I'm not gaining, but I would love to resume losing again.

    Chewable Multi-vitamin

I take the Centrum Adult Chewables. They aren't great tasting, but they aren't bad either.

    17 pounds in 9 days!

That sounds about right. I lost about that much in the first 2 weeks after surgery. Then it slowed down a bit when I started on regular foods.

    Alcohol & the Sleeve

I was sleeved on August 11th of this year. I had alcohol for the first time since July last night. I had an Angry Orchard Cider. It has a very small amount of alcohol, but I noticed that I got a little dizzy after drinking it. I thought dizziness was due to the fact that I was drinking it on a boat and the boat was rocking. I had another drink after I exited the boat, and I felt the same way. I don't think I'll be drinking again for a while.

    disappointed at 1 month

I'm officially 2 months post-op today. I was disappointed in my 46lb weight loss after reading stories off people losing 70+ lbs in just two months post surgery. Then I started to encourage myself. I should not feel bad about losing just 46 lbs, because dropping 46lbs in 2 months is effin awesome. Don't discount your journey because you aren't where you thinks you should be. Just stick to the program. It'll come off. Some of us are slow losers. That's not a bad thing.

    Procedure to remove 'dog ears'

    What are dog ears?
  10. I'm 2 months post-op today. I've had some bumps in the road, but I'm doing well. I'm down 46 lbs and feeling a slimmer in the waist line. I'd looking forward to achieving my next goal.

  11. I purchased the Buffalo Chicken Cold cuts from the deli counter at the grocery story. The roll-up is really easy. I just take two slices of the deli chicken and roll it around the cheese & avocado slice. I heat it on the stovetop, so that the cheese melts.
  12. My favorite post-op meal is Buffalo Chicken Roll-Ups, w/ trader joe's brie bites & mashed avocado. So good.

    Dumping syndrome? Tmi

I have "dumped" twice since my surgery. Milk did it each time. I told my surgeon, and he states that it was not dumping. The sleeve surgery has caused me to become lactose intolerant. If I look at milk, I sh*t (TMI).

    Puree !?!?

I like tuna, refried Beans and chicken. I bought a rotisserie chicken on Monday & cut all the meat off. I pureed the meat w/ taco seasoning, chicken broth & taco bell mild sauce. I divided it up in to 3 ounce portions. I've been eating that for lunch & dinner for the past week.

    Hungry Girl cookbooks

Many Hungry Girl recipes are sleeve friendly. The egg mugs are good. I want to try them all.

3 days out having a tough time

I had trouble getting all of my fluids in as well. I'm told that's normal. Sugar free popsicles help with fluids. Have you tried them?c

    Anyone from DE/PA/MD

I feel great after surgery. My pain went away a week after being released from the hospital. I've already gone back to work. I don't even feel like I've had a big chunk of my stomach removed.

    Anyone from DE/PA/MD

Yes. I went with Chrias. Dr. Isaias Irgau performed my surgery.

    Food Not Filling Me Up

Since I've started puree/soft foods, I have eaten an egg and added some fat free shredded cheese in with it. Sometimes, I'll add Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Crumbs (make sure they're smashed). That usually fills me up. My doc told me that if I still feel hungry to eat a little more, but don't overdo it. Your new stomach will let you know when you've done too much.
