African American vsgers!

  • Popular Post

Hey guys I saw a thread from 2011 that I wanted to continue. I love all of my vsgers but as we know african american women tend to carry weight differently. I would love to follow you ladies on your journey and for us all to support each other.

I was sleeved on September 5th so I'm a week out. I'm doing good so far and feeling better everyday. I stayed at the hospital 3 days mostly because they discovered my allergy to morphine while I was on the pump with a fever and my entire body on fire. But I'm home now and much better. I was just moved to the full liquids stage so I'm pretty happy considering that the liquids stage made me nauseous. I've lost 24 lbs since my surgery so any pain I have is over shadowed by my joy.

Looking forward to hearing from you ladies and seeing some progress pics!

@@Peekboo I have family in Norfolk. I was just down your way last month.

Question: I want to dye my natural fro so bad. Would it be a good idea for me to do it now? I will be one month out on Friday.

I'm finally officially on my second day of my pre-op diet. I must say...not too bad! I truly thought I would be dying of starvation but my protein shakes have been keeping me quite satisfied. I wasnt sure if Unjury was going to live up to the hype, but they taste amazing (i've only tried Chocolate Splender and Vanilla so far)! It's the first protein drink I've tried that doesnt actually taste like a "protein drink". @@Melissayw816 I have to agree...the anticipation is killing me. I just want to get it over so I can actually have a good night sleep minus the crazy "surgery dreams". Lol! @ I fear the same thing. This surgery is as much about health as it is about image. I was blessed to inherit some nice curves and I REALLY want to keep them.

Im not sure about the hair coloring although I see many people do on the youtube channels I watch about vsg.

I dont color mine but I need a relaxer touch up and not sure about getting one so lose to my 8 Oct surgery date.

I too have had dreams that I may just me a bag of bones, lol. If you are curvy you probably will just have smaller curves after weight loss. My trainer said exercises with weights will help you not lose muscle tone.

Listen. I want to keep some butt nad hips too. But, at 4 weeks post op I noticed my butt is down. i do feel a little curviness in the hips. But my bottom was even hurting after riding my bike, and that never happened before. That started Saturday. I need to do some squats and lunges for real, lol. I hate lunges though, lol.

Sleeve day 2day@3

@@Peekboo Thanks for that tip. I just purchased some 10lb weights so I hope that does the trick. I've never seen myself without curves and I think that may be a scary sight for all to see. People may think I'm sick or dying! lol

I think those lunges will help keep our bottoms lifted, lol. Just saying :-)

OK....this may sound like a real "big gul" but my preop diet starts Friday....so does that mean to live life (eat) 2 the fullest?!?!?! ...IJS lol

@Peekboo., I know I know. I just don't like them cause they are so hard to me. But hopefully with me being lighter, it will be much easier now. Any workout suggestions?

@, lol. I can honestly say that I did have me my Last meal. I knew once I got home, I had to do my liver shrink for two weeks. But I am good now though.

1sleeve

Best of luck :-)

Motherof5

Im a mother of 4 and twins are in that mi but let me just say, those lunges will be worth it in the end, lol. Well, thats if you want to keep an apple bottom, lmao.
