When did anyone go out.....

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on Wednesday august 27....three days ago.... My question is when did people go out? I mean just leave their house. I don't mean back to work... Like a ride in the car.... Haircut... Grocery store.... Just curious ... I have a haircut appointment and wondering I should cancel it for today. Thank you

Alyce

At three days out I was still really, really tired. I didn't start leaving the house for more than a walk to get the mail until about two weeks out. But that's just me. Some people's early healing phase goes much more quickly.

There's no rule ... just go out when you feel OK to do so.

After three days, you might not want to be driving ... surgical anesthetics are still rattling around in our systems. I was lightheaded for more than a week post-op.

I'm 12 days out now, and drove yesterday for the first time.

when did people go out

@@alyce

day after surgery i went roller blading around the block :D

kiddddding

since you didn't mention any problems like gas, being extra tired..........

sounds like you are moving, recuperating well :)

do whatever you think feels right for you in your daily routine

would you be driving the car?

or be a passenger?

hair cut - go for it!!

I see B) you definitely need a trim ;)

walking around the block etc is also fine (good exercise too)

grocery store, mall - for me i would wait only cuz i was more tired than my "norm"

if it feels right - and doc says ok - great

if you doubt anything about anything - always talk to your doc

you and your tummy just had majory surgery :o

you and it both need to take it easy

that being said - whatever movement you are comfortable with, it should be ok

its whatever works for you - just take baby steps at first (no roller blading yet!!)

ALWAYS listen to your body

again check wiwth the doc if you have any questions

he is the smartest person (except me of course)

good luck :)

take care :)

continued speedy recovery :)

kathy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
