I'm glad you are able to tolerate the shakes and stuff so well. I felt sick to my stomach all day yesterday because the shakes are just too sweet for me - and the Soup UGH!! I choked down a shake this morning, but I also saw the surgeon today and I told him how bad yesterday was. He told me I could do just one week instead of two - so I got a reprieve! I'm going to have to try some other shakes next week or I'm not going to make it.

have you tried Premier Protein? They taste pretty good!

Oh man, lucky break! Only one week! I'm sorry you're having a tough time though.

I think I somewhat knew what to expect with the Protein shakes. It's been my go to Breakfast for a while now (although I would make mine taste awesome with fruit etc).

Our plan allows for a banana so my trick is freezing sliced up bananas and I blend those into my shakes. And a little ice. I find they taste better cold. The frozen banana gives it a milkshake texture and helps it taste a little bit less chemicalish.

Hey that's a good idea with the banana! What flavor shake are you putting it in? I have chocolate, Iced Latte and vanilla.

I have tried the Premier and it was better than the stuff from the surgeons office. I might just drink those next week!

I have the vanilla, iced latte, and banana. I think the vanilla is best.

I have to say, the Soup is pretty terrible. I might have to find a substitution.

I have tried the various Syntrax Nectars. Ordered two samplers. Love the fruity flavors. I have also had the Premier Protein in chocolate. Like it a lot. I hope I still like just about all of them after surgery. I will choke them down, regardless of whether I still like them or not. Thanks to those of you who suggested getting samples. Great idea! But the best tasting so far, to me, besides the unflavored variety, is the Chocolate Splendor flavor by Unjury.

Hello. New to posting here but I found reading about others' experiences to be helpful pre-op so I thought I'd share. Had a sleeve done Monday 10/6. Came out of surgery in some discomfort--mostly from the anesthesia I think. There was some nausea and bloating pains that afternoon and evening. Fortunately the nausea never "manifested." Most of all I was extremely tired. Slept most of the day Monday and woke up Tuesday pretty much fine. Had some gas pains but the nausea was gone. I have no pain in the incision site or anything. Aside from what they gave me in the recovery room upon waking up I've had no pain medication nor any want for some. Not even Tylenol. They made me stick around the hospital Tuesday to see how much Water I could drink. I had no problem consuming an ounce every 15 minutes. No problem with pills either.

It's now Thursday and I feel perfectly fine. Went to the mall with my wife for about an hour and a half today. Watched some tv. I take a walk around the block every 3 or 4 hours. Mostly I'm just sipping away at Water and Protein supplements. It almost has me a little worried that it has gone so well...as if the universe will need to correct itself or something! But in any case I'm babying the sleeve per the doctor's orders and I'm hoping everything just keeps going the way it has been. Nothing really to report, no problems at all. Good luck to everyone.

Ha, loved your comment, Sleeverino: " It almost has me a little worried that it has gone so well...as if the universe will need to correct itself or something!"

I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop, the BAD shoe.

I went for my one week post-op visit with the surgeon yesterday, I did not lose a pound, in a week!! After only eating liquids, 150-250 calories a day! I was really down. I did lose 19 pounds during the 10 day pre-op diet but was really ready to start seeing the pounds drop. Just goes to show, like with all other diets, everyone is different.

Reading thru the post seems like everyone is doing really good. I am surprised how I don't have much pain from having so much of a major organ removed, I sometimes just feel like I pulled something on the inside and it's like a cramp but nothing bad. The worse part has been the gas and that is getting a lot better.

Love to read about everyone's successes!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
