Welcome to the Mini Gastric Bypass (Omega Loop) Surgery Forum!

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the Mini Gastric Bypass (Omega Loop) Surgery Forum! This is the place for you if you have the mini gastric bypass, if you're thinking about getting it, or if you just want to learn a little bit about it. Come talk about:

  • The mini gastric bypass diet.
  • Risks and complications.
  • Amount of weight you can expect to lose.
  • The procedure.
  • Nutritional deficiencies.

The mini gastric bypass surgery has been around for a while, but it’s been getting more attention recently. The procedure and amount of weight people lose are similar to the roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery procedure, but the Omega loop procedure is quicker. You may be a little less likely to have complications from it, too.

Enjoy the Mini Gastric Bypass (Omega Loop) Surgery Forum!

HI, I had a gastric Sleeve in July 2005 lost about 60KG over 2+ years, in 2012 had bad reflux, band removed and 3 months later after putting on about 15Kg, had a sleeve. 2.5 years later on 1 June 2015 I am having a Mini Gastric Bypass (Omega Loop) I am now 105Kg and goal is about 85, I still lost 60Kg from before I was banded. Teh reason I am having teh Omega Loop is because I am constantly hungry, and I am told teh Loop will be the best solution for me.

I'll let you know how I go. I have an Pandescopy to see what my stomach is like on May 21, then Omega Loop on 1 June 2015.

Wish me luck.....

I'm very surprised your surgeon revised you to a gastric sleeve after band removal due to acid reflux. Acid reflux is a contraindication for gastric sleeve surgery. They should have gone right to the gastric bypass or the Mini gastric bypass. Good luck on your Pandescopy and surgery! Please keep us updated.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
