It's double checking what the recommended portion sizes are. I believe it's 1/4 cup for veggies and carbs but can someone remind me the ounces for meats please.

This would be best discussed with your nutritionist or surgeon. Each one has slightly different criteria. I know that with my plan, in the early weeks after surgery, I was told 1-2 oz of meat and a couple of tablespoons of veggies at each meal, no more than 2 small servings of fruit a day and minimal carbs. After the first couple of months, my Protein size increased to about 4 oz per meal and 1/2 cup of veggies, 2 servings of fruit a day and still minimal carbs. I eat 3 small meals a day and 2 Snacks. Each snack also includes some form of Protein. If I don't meet my protein goals through solid food each day, then I'll mix a scoop of powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury vanilla or Unflavored in 8 oz of 50 calorie orange juice and Water (half oj and half water) in the evening before bed.

Good luck! :)

Just as healthyme mentioned, each program has different recommendations.

For mine - we started out at 2 tbsp per meal immediately after surgery, then as the weeks/months progress we gradually work up to half a cup or 3 to 4 ounces.

Most of this for me is always supposed to be Protein, with only extra veggies if the Protein isn't enough.

Don't think I'll ever get to the point where I can have 1/4 cup of veggies and we're supposed to avoid carbs as much as humanly possible. But again, this is specifically for me and my program. Yours may of course differ.

My program started us on 4oz of Protein right after the liquid diet was over. Sometimes I get the whole 4oz in sometimes I don't. Depends on how dense the protein is. We only get fruits or veggies if we have room. I try to get a veggie in there every now and then for some Fiber.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
