I also itched on my belly, both on and not on the incisions. It went away after a couple of weeks.

I had my RNY on July 8. So 4 weeks out doing great walking anywhere from 3 to 5 miles per day. I've lost a total of 40 pounds Today was my grandson's first birthday and I didn't know if I was looking forward to the party or not. The family brings lots of yummy food. We had a grand buffet. I was worried how I would cope. But I did well just had a little taste of a few things and had my favorite smoked salmon. Made it through didn't feel too full everything went well! Feeling happy and satisfied!

I had my RNY on July 21st doing great. I even went to Disneyland with the family (no rides).

I noticed some of you are eating actual foods? My Dr has us on liquid for 3 weeks and pureed foods for 3 weeks. Is this not typical?

I was on liquids for 2 weeks and then soft foods for 2 weeks. My surgeon considered yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, and fish soft foods.

I had mine on the 21st as well, Melissa Cotton.

I am eating soft foods. Cottage cheese, eggs, fish, plain yogurt.

Small amounts, but I am eating!

How are you cooking your fish Dawn?

I was on liquids for 12 days and we'll be on mushy for a freakin month (until stage III orientation) unless Dr tells us we can start this Thursday wish I hope so because I know I can.

I still can't believe how easy I had it, liquids for just over a week and I did one day of puréed and he said nope and moved me right to soft foods. I can't imagine being on mushy for that long! Good luck!

It's more like a "puree/mushy" stage but feel I'm ready to start solids but waiting until the 25th for our stage III orientation. After that I'm firing my bariatric dr and finding another.

Is he alone or in a group? I started out with one and got a second opinion from another in his group and I was very happy with my decision. I actually had surgeon 1 take care of me in my first hospital trip after the surgery and another the second one.

Alone.

He's also concidered a bariatric center of excellence. Ha.

I will have to call my insurance bariatric program and see if I'm allowed to change and hopefully there another bariatric dr that will take another bariatric drs patient.

Does your husband have the same issues with him?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
