whine: I want soup!

Recommended Posts

11 days post op, I'm hungry, hate drinking, hungry, I want soup!!!!!!

Why do some people get to drink Soups in their first week and our stupid Dr makes us wait two weeks? I know it's to help with healing but I feel it will be fine for me. Post op appt is Wednesday and I better get the ok our I might just have to defy him. (I get grumpy when I'm hungry, can you tell?)

Again, I wish these "rules" were the same for everyone and every Dr everywhere.

I wish the rules were all the same too! There is do much contradiction! I was just sleeved on Friday! I'm allowed broth and Clear Liquids for 2 weeks but feeling very hungry! Confused though cause I thought we weren't supposed to feel hungry ! Haha

I swear my old tummy is grumbling for food. I hope that stops eventually. The hunger is not where my pouch is.

focus on healing, this part of the weight loss journey will soon just be a memory. You can make it through this, just face the diet one day at a time. You can make it one day. Then the same for the next day. Giving in to your wants put you in a really bad place as far as your weight is concerned. Follow the plan as your doctor h as set forth for you and you will be more successful. Good luck on your weight loss.

My old stomach growled for about a week about after my RNY. I haven't been hungry since my surgery. My issues are mostly head hunger.

bah! cleared for stage II but still no Soup. Hey, I'm ok with that! I can make "soup" from pureed squash and whatever else I'm allowed to have on the list. Right now I'm eating pureed tuna with a little bit of light mayo. yum!! I don't know why I can't have Soup though. weird.

To me Soup is just like drinking Water, it just flows right on through. I bought a can of fat free cream of chicken and ate the whole 10oz can. Won't be doing that again, I felt no restriction at all.

Ya, that's why or program says no Soup, even in stage II.

But I still want it. Lol. I want pea soup but peas aren't on the good list of veggies :P

Itsmekarenlee, don't pay attention to anyone else's programs than your own. Follow your surgeons program. Each surgeon has experience with what they feel works best. I am a rule follower in my general life and I believe that has helped me in the three weeks since my surgery as I have done well. It's about the physical changes but also about changing our habits and psychological changes we must make! Keep calm and carry on.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
