Please, please, please, what can I eat that won't cause this horrible gas?

Have been having horrible gas, lately. Yesterday was awful!! I was sure that I had a bowel blockage, except for the gas. It was continual. I don't know what foods cause the gas. What foods can we eat that will NOT cause gas?

Lactose caused it for me and I was in horrible pain. Have you been eating dairy? If so, cut it out immediately and go to Lactaid or lactose free milk and dairy. You can also take the lactaid pills (I got the Walgreens brand - less expensive) and they work just fine. It will take 24 - 48 hours to leave your system, but once it does, you will know it and feel a difference.

Drink lots of Water and eat sugar free popsicles because it can dehydrate you.

Let me know how you fair!

artificial sweeteners cause it big time for me so I stopped using them and feel so much better.

You may have developed a dairy intolerance. Several vegetables can cause gas as well. I keep a bottle of Beano in my purse, in my lunchbox and at home. Anytime I eat anything that might cause gas, I chew a couple of Beano when I take my first bite of food. Works like a charm!

I have had bad gas for 2 years post op. Nothing dietary seems to help. I should have bought stick in gas x before starting this journey with the amount I buy now. I also buy Devrom which helps with the smell. My husband does not allow me to run out of those.

Thank you for all the responses. Today was better because I didn't eat anything, only had liquids. It isn't just the smell (which is awful), but the pain and constant feeling of having to go to the bathroom. And, the bloating in awful, too.

I don't eat much dairy, only cheese. I will try and stay away from the cheese. I will go to Walgreens tomorrow and buy the store brand of Devrom. I have never heard of it before. I have used the Beano but it didn't seem to do much.

Thank you, again, for the responses.

Oops! I meant the Walgreen brand of Lactaid. It looks like I have to order the Devrom online.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
