Dr. Anthony Pucci in NJ for 2nd Lap Band procedure

Recommended Posts

My doctor is in the process of submitting to my insurance for the Lap Band procedure. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying that they approve it and soon.

If all goes well, this will be my 2nd procedure. My first was with Dr. Beth Shrope in Ridgewood, NJ. It was in for 3 weeks before being removed. No medical reason for the removal...long story...

I've gained over 30lbs since the last procedure, 3 years ago and I feel like I'm more than ready this time around. Different Doctor, different hospital, different pre-op and post op instructions.

Has anyone had their surgery done by Dr. Pucci (or any of the brothers in the practice)? What was your experience like? I was very disappointed with my first doctor and the very cold and hands off way their office treated me. Nice, modern office compared to my current doctor, longer process, but much less personalized.

I was told that there are risks with trying the same procedure again...scar tissue, etc. I've had an upper GI and xrays to let him see what's going on inside, but he won't be able to tell 100% until he's inside. I'm terrified that I'm going to wake up from the procedure to find that he couldn't put it in because of complications from the first procedure...even though he says it's unlikely to be the case.

I was told that the best tasting Protein powder is powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury...but I never heard of that brand...has anyone tried it? What do you think? Is it worth ordering online, because I can't find it in stores.

Not openly discussing the surgery with anyone except my husband and BFF...I feel it's private and none of anyone else's business. That's why I think this chat group is so important. I need to be able to exchange ideas with other patients and know what I'm dealing with.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
