Sushi and diarrhea

Recommended Posts

, so , I'm about 11 weeks out. Went out with family last night for sashimi and sushi. I've had sashimi once so far no problems. Last night two pieces with rice and three pieces sashimi alone. I tossed and turned all night, today? So far three bouts of liquid diarrhea! I feel so horrible but my temp is actually low and I have to go I work. Super nervous about dehydration. Anyone have this experience?

Hi Patoonces, I've had this same experience with Sushi. I had diarrhea for 3 days. I was running to the bathroom so much I had to leave work early one day. I have stayed away from Sushi since and you may want to do the same. Best of luck to you on your journey.

Hi there! I have had sushi with no problems. Sounds like you have a rough bout of food poisoning from having the sushi. Hope you start feeling better.

I've had sushi with no problems as well , just plain tuna roll with brown rice, it actually went down very well, I enjoyed it very much! :))

I used to HATE seafood! Now, sushi is all I crave! The rice does fill too much but if u ask to wrap in seaweed instead with all the yum in between...heaven! It's so weird how my body completely rewired itself! I don't even look at pizza anymore! That was my all time fav! So strange and unbelievable how the human body/mind works!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
