Hello Everyone:

I got my sleeve on June 30. I have lost 30 lbs since surgery. I haven't stalled yet, but I guess it's coming. I would like to start exercising, but it takes so much energy for me to just go out and about. I'm going to start weights next week and see how it goes. Also thinking about Water aerobics.

Sleeved on June 5th. Had no problems, except an occasional bout with Constipation. Getting Protein, and struggling to get the Water in. Looking forward to Stage 5.

Surgery weight was 326, and my current weight is 287. I am happy with the results. I do not weigh myself daily, so I don't know if I have stalled or not. I believe if you do what you're supposed to, then the weight will do what its supposed to.

Hang in there peeps, and we will all live a longer and healthier life!

I'm in the pureed food stage right now. I'm experiencing an upset stomach. Anyone else having a hard time adjusting to moving from liquids to pureed foods? I feel sick to my stomach most of the day now.

I was sleeved on 6/23 and developed gastritis after week one. I am having a terrible time making the switch too. Everything makes me nautious and I gag, then vomit. So far I have managed to keep down Almond milk, Greek yogurt, SF pudding, mashed bananas, and SF Popsicles. Water alone is too harsh so I add a touch of flavoring. I haven't been able to keep down any Protein I've tried (chicken and tuna). I also have trouble with Protein Shakes. Any suggestions folks have that may help would be appreciated!

Hi everyone. I was sleeved on June 25th. It's been 4 weeks now and I've been stalled for two weeks. I lost 27 lbs so far.

My story seems to be different than others. My doc put me on regular foods, meat and green veggies and greek yogurt the second week! He said that research has found that starting regular foods early helps speed recovery. I must say that I feel good. I went back to work after 3 weeks and was exhausted at first but I'm sure this second week will be easier.

My pain was awful the first day. Second day was painful but not too bad. I came home the day after surgery and had to sleep on the recliner for a few days as I couldn't lie flat. I only took Vicodin at night for three days and after that it was ok.

I am still a little sore but feeling great. I am off my blood pressure meds and doing good.

I have my next visit with the surgeon this Friday, Aug.1st so I'm guessing he'll let me have carbs now! I am really missing fruit. I love it and it's been driving me nuts not being able to eat it.

The unjury unflavored Protein is wonderful. I put it in my vanilla greek yogurt and it's absolutely tasteless! I also bought the chocolate flavor which I will use when I can make smoothies in my new Nutribullet! Can't wait to juice!

Keep the faith everyone!

Could you please send me an invite to the group? I am under Diane Vanderski and there is a picture of an English cream golden retriever puppy.

I had my surgery on 6/23 - lost 30 pounds really quickly and then the last two weeks, 2 pounds. I keep telling myself not to get frustrated - before surgery I would have been thrilled to lose a pound/week. Good to know I'm not the only one feeling stuck. I have my 6 week check in tomorrow and I'm afraid they are going to tell me I've been screwing up, but I'm tracking what I eat and meeting both liquid and Protein requirements, and staying under 1200 calories (way under). I guess we all have to hang in there. Thanks everyone for responding to this chain and helping know I'm not alone! :)

Not alone, I lost 2 lbs last week and none so far this week. Decided today I am done with weighing daily!

I am not going to weigh myself every day either. It sux.

I haven't had trouble with my stomach since the surgery because I think I was put on regular food week 2. It seems that the longer you're on liquids and purees the harder it is to hold food down. It seems that way anyway from all the posts I've been reading.

I guess we all just have to stick to it and we'll reach our goals!

Last week we were on vacation, and it was 7 weeks postop. I had trouble finding food that my very troublesome tummy would tolerate and I didn't pack quite enough of my own high Protein bars and drinks, so my calorie count and Protein was probably low. According to my Fitbit, I walked 35 miles last week. The scale said I lost NOTHING. Talk about frustrating! The scale is not my friend right now either. To top it off, my stomach hurts worse than ever now that we are home. Grrrrr. Needless to say, I'm staying off the scale until the weekend.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
