How long did it drain for? And hurt?

It took about 2 weeks and yes it was painful but not extremely painful. Kinda felt like a sting. Clean gauze was my best friend with tape.

I'm gonna go to urgent care here in a few. Woke up this morning and blood everywhere. Had chills and sweats all night. It looks better after shower this morning but need to be sure. Thank you everyone. I think it is probably fine but I'm not feeling well and should feel better at 11 days out. I feel sick. And the combo scares me

@@emsgirl114, Thank heavens. I was about to offer you the $75 just to go. You matter to the people that love you and your life and health are not worth saving $75 for goodness sakes. If all is well, let a doctor tell you nothing is wrong and to go home and resume normal activites. That wound looks bad, and I hate that you felt worse during the night, but perhaps that's a little signal from God above to nudge you to the urgent care clinic. Please take care of yourself and please let us know what the outcome is after your visit. Good luck to you. I'm truly wishing you the best.

Thanks all! I went. I went to the urgent care. They did X-rays and blood work. My WBC was above normal ranges but not significantly so that means I do have a slight infection or on the verge of one. They said the hematoma formed an abscess. So I would of been a lot sicker in a few days. On oral antibiotics and a shot of antibiotics (that hurt like hell). The xray showed some air in the sleeve but nothing alarming or leaking. But they'll send radiologist to read. I was glad to see my stomach on film and it does look like a banana. Lots of blood work. They cleaned it out so nicely and put steri strip over it. Already feel better. At least cared for.

Thank heavens. I really did not want to alarm you with my response after I saw the pics you posted, but as an RN I knew you were headed for trouble. Abdominal infections are really nothing to play with, and I hope they cultured that wound to make sure you've been placed on appropriate antibiotics. You'll feel so much better in a couple of days. Please take care of yourself and stay in touch.

So far today it's feeling so much better. I've been up all day. My his is the best I've felt all week. I am a volunteer firefighter and we have our big Christmas party tonight. Made a huge amount of calabacitas (zucchini and corn dish). I won't be having any but I did have a few pieces of well cooked zucchini. Hope that wasn't a mistake. I'm down about 15 pounds since I was last at station. Not much yet but I'm wondering if those lug heads (said with love) will notice. They just know I had abdominal surgery. Not will they ever know if I can help it. Fire station teasing can be brutal. Hoping it will be a gun evening. My non firefighter boyfriend is even acting excited, I think cause my bday is tomorrow. He's an amazing man for being secure enough to have a girl friend who hangs out with a bunch of firefighters, where boundaries are mythical...

Did you have any drainage from it? Mine is draining yellowish Fluid. It's still open. I'm 2 weeks out. Dr just put me on antibiotics yesterday.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
