help failure and has any one had herina after

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone:

Well let me say I feel like a failure. I was sleeved on 2/29/2013 weight about 272 did ok in first 1/2 year. about 52 lbs. Then I lost conrol with eating and could eat just like before surgery. and I have gained about 20 back. Now they found a herina that I have and going to fix it this wednesday. Which is odd, they fixed one when they went in and did the sleeve. but seems have one again. Has anyone had this? or surgery after the sleeve. Not sure how I will feel know doc said liquids for about 6-8 weeks. hoping it will help get my small tummy back. but not sure that can happen. I talked with about a revision but want to wait for herina to be fixed and see if we can get me back on track. Are there others that have stuggled like this? and how did you get back on track? If you had suregery for herina how long on liguids? and How did you feel after? did it help with not wanting to eat so much? I need help, and guess reaching out. Please advise me . thank you so much.

Mary

I am struggling with weight gain and it's been almost 3 years :( ! I was considering a re sleeve but not sure how risky it is ! And hernia's can keep happening depending on where they are located and the pressure on she weakened muscle and tissue ! What have u figured out about the weight gain ??

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
